The Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology contains collections of prehistoric bone and stone artefacts, metalwork, ceramics, glass, sculpture, leather, wood carvings, gemstones, lacquer, paper, prints and paintings spanning the last 500,000 years of human history.

We offer two options for exploring the collection.

SEARCH a growing database of HIGHLIGHTS of a range of items in the Museum. This database contains an image and details of the item.

BROWSE our COLLECTIONS ONLINE that contain brief descriptions from the register of the collection, including a simple name, a full name, provenance and material.  No images yet.

This catalogue is for personal research use only.

For other use, visitors to the Museum web site must contact the Museum and obtain authorisation. A small donation fee to the Museum is usually requested for use of images.
